The origins of Craniosacral date back to the 1920s, when osteopath Dr. William Sutherland observed subtle movements within the bones of the head.  These movements are due to the rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid flowing around the brain and down the spinal column.  A similar movement is also felt throughout the whole body in response to this phenomenon.  Free-flowing movement within the craniosacral system is intimately connected with optimal health and the body’s innate capacity to self-heal.  Dr. Sutherland developed techniques to facilitate changes in areas where restrictions impede this open motion.  These are the techniques used by Craniosacral practitioners today.

Real fearlessness is the product of tenderness. It comes from letting the world tickle your heart, your raw and beautiful heart.
